Pan de Muerto is a traditional, slightly sweet bre Pan de Muerto is a traditional, slightly sweet bread prepared for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a festival honoring the souls of those who have died. The bread dates back to the time of the Spanish conquistadors, who used the heart-shaped bread as a stand-in for pre-existing Aztec rituals.
